November 18, 2024 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The poet Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca<\/strong>, the painter Salvador Dal\u00ed<\/strong>, and the filmmaker Luis Bu\u00f1uel<\/strong> formed what has been called \u00abthe most fabulous friendly triangle of the 20th century.\u00bb Despite belonging to different artistic disciplines, all three made forays into video art even before this form of expression was \u00abinvented.\u00bb How was this possible? Through an interactive audiovisual workshop lasting three days and 9 hours, the International Film Festival of Almer\u00eda<\/strong> will analyze this fascinating connection by exploring the \u00abvideographic\u00bb productions of these renowned creators. Not only will the most recognized works be reviewed, such as Bu\u00f1uel and Dal\u00ed\u2019s \u201cUn perro andaluz<\/strong>\u201d and \u201cLa Edad de Oro<\/strong>\u201d or Lorca\u2019s \u201cViaje a la Luna<\/strong>\u201d but eight lesser-known productions will also be included that reveal the sometimes positive and sometimes negative interaction between these three artists, who have become key figures in 20th-century Spanish culture. Professor and Doctor of Audiovisual Communication, Federico Utrera<\/strong>, will take participants on a journey through time, uncovering the keys that gave rise to these astonishing audiovisual creations, which were contemporary to the birth of sound cinema and helped lay the foundations for video art from Spain.<\/p>\n

In this edition, Professor Federico Utrera<\/strong> will present in the interactive audiovisual workshop the life and video art work of authors who still remain on the periphery of this discipline due to their inclusion in obscure areas of audiovisual historiography. Postgraduate lecturer in Audiovisual Communication<\/strong> at Next Educaci\u00f3n<\/strong> (Madrid). He was awarded an extraordinary prize for his doctoral thesis on Mass Media Art<\/strong> and is the author of the first biography and catalogue raisonn\u00e9 on the North American<\/strong> video artist Bill Viola<\/strong>. He has participated as a workshop and jury member in several international film and video art festivals and has been invited and accredited in different video art exhibitions in museums and art centres all over the world.
